One sister who married the Crawford came first and the other girls with their husband's followed. I do know that Andrew Jackson's father was Hugh Jackson. He remained in Ireland and after Andrew's father and mother were both death Andrew recived an inheritance from his grandfather and spent it all on gambling and horse racing. After that he worked under a friend that was a lawyer and became a very good country lawyer. If you wanted to find out about the Jackson side you should go to a site like Ancestry that has Irish records or write to Ireland and ask someone to help you research the family. The problem with most of the books is that most people have little on his family. I have contacted the Hermatiage and their historians and they have less than I do. I have also spoken with a AJ historian at a University that has all of Andrew Jackson's paper, letters and the Walkup papers and he does! n't know more than I do. Keep looking and I will do a little extra searching in the next couple of weeks and see if I see anything I didn't notice before as I never paid much attention to the Jackson's as I was searching for my Leslie's(lesly) family and I knew they were related from Andrew Jackson Books and from authors who mentioned them. The birthday and place of birth that I listed for my Daniel Jackson: b. 1813 NC and death after 1850 census is where my dead end is. This is why I am snatching at any straw. I'm searcing for parents and siblings but N. C. is huge and many HOH are on 1810 & 1820 census. I have no clue where to start until I have someone to suspect he might link to. I can give you his wife's name and his children's names. (which won't be much help) His wife was Christian Stewat and Children were Alexander Jackson b. 1847, Thomas Jackson b. 1848 and William Jackson b. 1850. William may not have survived as mother died before 1850 census where he was only 2 months old. I haven't identified him anywhere since. Since you gave more info on your Daniel, I can see that my Daniel is not the same as yours. Thank you so much for responding to my post. This is a 13 page table that I have assembled of recent Irish will probates: http://www.thesilverbowl.com/documents/TABLES/JACKSON-Will-Probates.html Sharon Oddie Brown -- Sharon Oddie Brown, Roberts Creek, BC, Canada. History Project: www.thesilverbowl.com
/I have just posted notes of a will of Frances JACKSON from a will probated in 1859. The footnotes represent some of my conjectures about how she may tie into other known lines of JACKSONs. NAMES Frances JACKSON late of Graigue, Queens Co.; Mary JACKSON; Edward Leonard JARMESON; Michael NOLAN; Patrick POWER; Robert Clayton BROWNE; Thomas JAMESON; Adam JACKSON./ SEE: http://www.thesilverbowl.com/documents/1859Aug13-FrancesJACKSON.html Thanks to Michael Purcell for his initial transcription. I have just uploaded something like a hundred new notes on memorials of deeds. Maybe more. I have lost count. Counting is not my forte. They are in two files. You can access them through the hyperlinks that refer to the two pdfs mentioned in the opening comments on my deeds page at: http://www.thesilverbowl.com/documents/Wills_and_Will_abstracts.htm The deed memorials that I have made notes of cover just about every county in Ireland. My recent focus has been JACKSONs, COULTERs and OLIVERs, but once I set out to net them, then I also netted their neighbours and all the families that they married into. This means that even if your family was not who I was after, it may still be worth your while taking a gander at them. The documents are easy to search by either name or townland. Enjoy - and if you spot errors, I always make corrections ASAP. I should mention that I never learned to touch type, which means that there may be a higher number of typos than what can be seen on other people's pages (50 years ago, I thought it was smarter to choose a class in physics rather than typing, After all, it was where the boys were. Duh!). Sharon Oddie Brown -- Sharon Oddie Brown, Roberts Creek, BC, Canada. History Project: www.thesilverbowl.com

One of my Jackson ancestors claimed to be a cousin whose family came from from Ireland with Andrew's family. Do you have a tree with your info? My ancestor was Thomas Terrell Jackson who was born in 1831 in Alabama. His father was Samuel Jackson who was born in 1793 in South Carolina. There is a possibility that his father was John Jackson, but that is a guess. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have just completed an annotated transcription based on an earlier one done by Tenison Arthur Groves and held at the Armagh County Museum, in the TGF Paterson ms collection, Notebook #5. Groves was a Belfast genealogist and record searcher who did thousands of transcripts, abstracts, notes, etc., from records held in the Public Record Office in Dublin before they were destroyed in 1922. In 1939, PRONI purchased the part which related to Northern Ireland. There are more than 9,000 items including seventeenth century muster rolls, militia lists, family pedigrees, and transcriptions or notes on wills. In Notebook #5, he seemed to be exploring the genealogy of Richard JACKSON of Forkhill (1722-1787). It is a significant document because it opens clues that may connect the JACKSONs who emigrated from Kirby Lonsdale, Yorkshire to Londonderry in the mid 1600s to later JACKSONs in Co. Meath, Monaghan & Cavan. NAMES: Samuel JACKSON of Dublin; Leonard JACKSON; Nathaniel JACKSON; Rev. John JACKSON of Skipworth, Yorkshire; Rev. Leonard JACKSON of Tatham, Yorkshire; William JACKSON of Coleraine (wife: Susan BERESFORD and her second husband was John MITCHELBURN); Richard JACKSON of Mary Lane, Dublin; William Robert THORNTON; William ?PSON [JEPSON?]; W. MADDEN of Kilmon; James HAMILL; Mary GILES; Robert KING; Joseph BAYLEY; Nicholas EVERELL of Coleraine; Sir William HAMILTON; M. WITHERS; Capt. Adam DOWNING of Londonderry (husband of Ann JACKSON). OTHER PLACES: Properties in Co. Monaghan; Co. Cavan; Co. Meath; Dublin City; Clifford, Yorkshire. SEE:http://www.thesilverbowl.com/documents/1705Dec4-Samuel%20JACKSON.html NOTE: There are six pages of footnotes - please let me know if any need to be altered for reasons of accuracy. His mother was not of the first peoples of America, Indian. She was from Ireland as were her sisters who traveled to America with their husbands. His mother was my 5th great grandmother's sister. I have every book written about Andrew Jackson except a couple before 1880. My family the Leslies are mentioned a few times as are the Crawfords and the the McKemys. The sisters who were Hutchinsons married these brothers and lived near each other on the border of North and South Carolina. Lyncola died young and did not live to manhood. I was very pleased to get your reply & I hope that the Robert Jackson you found in the workhouse was not your Robert--he deserved better!
