    1. [JACKSON] Tomlin - Jackson connection
    2. Jane
    3. After seeing that there could be a Tomlin/Jackson connection, I wondered if this reference, found in an 1887 Jackson Ledger, would be of interest to Shirley Tomlin. Just a wild guess: 3. William W. Thompson, born July 1812, married 1st Susan Tomlin of Fauquier Co., Va - daughter of Stephen and Sarah Norris Tomlin. This Sarah Norris a sister of great grandmother Hannah [Bailey] Jackson's mother who was Nancy Norris of Fauquier Co. Va. Janie

From Virginia he went to Burke Co., N.C., from there to Henry Co., Tn., and from there to Fulton County, Arkansas, which is now Izard Co., Ar. He is on the 1850 census for Fulton Co., Ar.; Franklin Twp. Also Nathan Jackson was on the 1850 census for Fulton Co., Ar.; Franklin Twp. I feel that these two were brothers. Does anyone have any information on Nathan and his family? Thanks. Betty McCollum

I will add notes as I learn more about the individuals mentioned and how they may connect to known lines of JACKSONs. Help on this is always appreciated. You can see them all at the NEW hyperlink: http://www.thesilverbowl.com/misc/whatsnew.htm <http://www.thesilverbowl.com/history/JACKSON-CanterburyWills-SomersetHouse.html> I hope they are of use, Sharon Oddie Brown -- Sharon Oddie Brown, Roberts Creek, BC, Canada. 2. Sharon Oddie Brown
    3. The following was sent yesterday to this list, but seemingly was bounced. The relevancy of the following post to this list is that the Jackson families discussed in these blogs have connections to Jacksons in both England and Ireland. Here is a piece that I have posted on Original JACKSON of Godmanchester: http://sharonoddiebrown.blogspot.com/2011/11/original-jackson.html And another about the home he built: http://sharonoddiebrown.blogspot.com/2011/11/island-hall-in-godmanchester.html Each article has links to a number of primary sources and research that I did in order to write the blog pieces. Tomorrow, I plan to finish the 3rd of this series - Jackson links to Samuel Pepys. -- Sharon Oddie Brown, Roberts Creek, BC, Canada. History Project: www.thesilverbowl.com

Only for a short time though. He was born in 1830ish and died in the Civil war. I have him born in SC and died in Ohio, of pneumonia, at a military hospital. One of the documents have him living in Hancock. I also have him in Hatchet and Coosa Co. Al. He had moved him family to Richmond, Ga before entering the war, although he enlisted in AL. What caught my eye was that many of the names you list run down my family line. I have Thomas, William, Frances, James and James wife was Melinda ( could be spelled with an "a" though.) Can't say for sure that there is a connection, but you never know. Gwen Jackson Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
