It is thought that Miles Jackson who was born around this time could be a brother of Thomas Jackson. The first record of Thomas Jackson is the 1820 census of Franklin County,TN. Thomas Jackson married Delilah(Maiden Unknown, she was born in 1793 in Oglethorpe co.GA) around 1810. Thomas and Delilah's children are: 1.Mary(Polly)1811-1877. 2.John(1814-1868). 3.Martha(Patsy) 1815-1912. 4.Sarah(Sally) 1818<1850. 5.Joanna(1820<1885) 6.Marcus B.(1827<1857). 7.Alpha(1830>1880). 8.Delilah(1831-1846). Thomas and Delilah and the children moved to Alabama in 1830(Probably the neighboring county to Franklin co.TN, can not search their records because of a courthouse fire). In late 1833, Thomas and Delilah and their Children along with the Simpson Family moved to Lawrence county,AR(the area is now the Morgan Township in Sharp co.Arkansas). In 1834 Thomas Jackson died and Delilah got married to Malachi Simpson in 1839. If you have any information on these Jacksons please send e-mail to: mjackson8465@sbcglobal.net . Surnames: Jackson Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Xgk.2ACEB/7515 Message Board Post: Sioux City, Iowa Sioux City Journal Monday, March 9, 1943 Page 1 A. M. JACKSON, 'BOOM' LEADER, DIES HERE AT 87 Built Up Morningside, Graceland Park Cemetery A. M. ("Andy") Jackson, 87, managing trustee of the Graceland Park Cemetery association, died at 8:10 p.m. Sunday [7 March 1943] in a hospital here after an illness of several days. Andrew Milton Jackson was born in Council Bluffs, January 11, 1856. His mother was Henrietta Cook, daughter of Dr. John K. Cook, founder of Sioux City. He father was James A. Mr. Jackson came here in 1887 -- the year of the first Corn Palace, and on of the eve of the boom that was to carry the name of Sioux City to all corners of the globe. Mr. Jackson, who resided at the Martin hotel, was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church; Landmark lodge 103, AF&AM; Sioux City consistory 5, AASR; and Abu-Bekr temple of Mystic Shrine.
