Ok Everybody I have a Question. Has anybody been cross scanning the DNA results between differant familes. Like on my dad's side is HILL, JACKSON, WHITE, SPEAKS, YANCEY, ..... + And my Mom's is ATKINSON, BAUMANN, DEAN/DANE, REDDICK, VICK,....+ What I mean is if I did a test for Hill I could also use it for Jackson line and so on? Or are they going to charge you for another test that's not needed? Just wondering because it could open alot of doors if you did. The 1881 Census is available free for you to search on http://www.familysearch.org You can now start searching for all you Walkers and Jacksons. You might want to post messages now on the Yorkshire message boards on Ancestry.com and also Eastbourne as your Jacksons in Eastbourne may not know they come from Yorkshire. He married Malinda Angeline Roe from Talking Rock about 1879 or 1880 Malinda was born August ??, 1860. They had 8 children - Homer Edger, Jonh Wesley, Will, Lester, Lula, Azzie, Cora, Mebbie Homer Robert's parents are listed on the death certificate only as: R.L. Jackson born in unknown and Louisa Jane Barnett or Barrett (handwriting is difficult) born in GA. Any information or leads would be appreciated.

While there are some of you on this list talking about some very early Jacksons, I want to ask if anyone knows anything about the William Jackson who was a gunner on the ship, "Bona Nova" ? This ship was sailing the coast in the early 1600's, around 1620 or so, and is the ship that took supplies to the Plymouth Colony, I believe the second winter they were there, if the ship had not taken what supplies they could to these people, they would have starved. In the Plymouth Colony was a Ann Jackson who was taken captive by the Indians. When she was finally resuced after some time, there are court records that state that she was in such bad shape that she "was to be in the care of her brother, and placed on the first ship he could get her on to return to England". The name of the brother is not given, but I have often wondered if the brother could have been the same William who was on the "Bona Nova", it was a English ship, the captain was from Radcliff, England. This book discusses Isaac's father Anthony and uncle Richard who migrated from Lancashire England to Ireland in 1649. It states that nothing was known (at that time) of their ancestry but the Quaker records have a lot of information on them and their descendants. Richard was in the Parlimentary Army and this may have been the reason for the move out of England. Both Anthony and Richard quckly became associated in religious fellowship with William Edmundson, who, in 1653, had become a convert to the doctrins of the Quakers and afterwards an eminent minister amonth them. They appeared to have been persecuted for their beliefs and moved several times before the descendants finally emigrated to America in the 1700's.
