Do you know how old Dennis was when he died? This would give you an approximate year of birth, I could then check the Births index, and then you could send off for his birth certificate to see who his parents were. Do you know Beatrice's maiden name and where she came from? I had a look at the register of Deaths and can't find one registered for Dennis in 1917 at all.. how definite are you of that year? Dawn

He married Lydia Jenks born May 4, 1800 in Burlington, New York and died 1843 German, New York. was the first to settle in McDonough, NY areacoming from Burlington, NY and settled on the town line word opposite the Hutchinson Place. He is buried in Union Cemetery, McDonough, NY. Birthday could be 4-17-1796. If anyone has any other information I would appreciate it. Jolene

Dennis died 12 june 1917. Other children were...Florence, George, Lawrence, Fred, Glad and Peggy. they were taken to Portsmouth and placed in an orphanage so my Father never really new his family or his background. Jackson, 80, retired Elk Grove rancher who was a child member of the REd Horn train, an ox team party that crossed the plains in the early days, died yesterday of pneumonia in Sacramento. Jackson had been ill less thatn one week and death came at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Lucy Sehlmeyer, where he made his home. His parents settled in Elk Grove in 1862 and Jackson had resided in this district the greater part of his life, being an active member of the local Grange. Two sons, Harry J. Jackson and Charles L Jackson, and a brother, M.E. Jackson are Sacramentans. Another daughter, Mrs. Hazel Sadler resides in Santa Barbara and a sister, Mrs. Nannie French, lives in Ventura. His wife, Kattie C. Jackson died about seven years ago. Burial will be at Elk Grove Masonic Cemetery. Sacramento Bee, 12/4/1932
