I have the information from the 1881 Census already. Having tried the 1891 Census, I can find Albert Jackson living with his brothers and sisters and his father Robert but there is no sign of Dinah, his mother. I will have to search further into the 1901 Census me thinks. However, I cannot find any reference to the family at all on the 1871 Census so am wondering where they were when this was carried out?? Thanks again. Sue

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Xgk.2ACEB/7699 Message Board Post: Have been attempting to sort out the lines of Jacksons from Christopher Dominick (married to Magdalene Devournall) through his three sons named in will: >Thaddeus, who married Elizabeth Fleming. He was named in a will of one of his Rust half brothers, William. >Julius Augustus, who married Sally Cannon and lived in Dorchester and Sussex Co, Delaware. He was a founding member of the Delaware Medical Society and owned the wharf in the town of Seaforth(?). He was paid by the military for medical services in the Rev. War. He had two known sons, Augustus, who died about 1798, and Dr. Peter Jackson who married Mary Rust. A son of the latter was Charles King Jackson, b. Sussex Co, Delaware, later of Hopkins and Webster Cos, Ky. Very interested in naming all the children of Augustus and of Dr. Peter Jackson. Information appreciated. Our ancestor is Julius Augustus Jackson, b. 1791, who we think is the son of one of these brothers. He married Elizabeth Walls and then Mary Griffith. >The last son of Christopher Dominick is Christopher Maccabeus Jackson, b. abt 1737. He is the one who married Magdelene Bogges and they moved on to first Mercer Co, Ky, then was a settler of Danville, Ky, then settled near Hartford, Ky. We are very interested in the children of this couple. There are conflicting reports. There are three "suspects": 1. There is a Christopher Maccabeus Jackson b. 1768 who married Catherine Rhoads. I have seen the reports that his father was someone else, but he was born in the same Ky county that CMJ b. abt 1737 lived in, and the name is certainly distinctive. The naming patterns in the lines are alike, as well. He names a son Julius and another son Christopher D. (Dominick?) and a daughter Hannah, which appears in this line as well. He goes to the same part of Missouri that the descendants of Julius Augustus go to--Pike Co and nearby. If not a son of CMJ b. abt 1737, surely there is a close connection somewhere. Early genealogy reports, although closer in time to the individuals, do sometimes suffer from the difficulty in obtaining records---we have a great advantage in that today. Any help appreciated! 2.There is also George Jackson b. Va, who married Sarah Crawford and lived in Daviess Co, Ky. An early history (1883) names his father as Christopher Maccabeus Jackson who was married to Magdelene Bogges, so we are almost certain. George has a son named Christopher D. Jackson, b. 1813, who married Nancy Lacklin. 3.Another possible is Jesse Jackson, b. 1770 also Va, who married Hannah Rhoads, the sister of Catherine Rhoads who married Christopher M. Jackson of Pike Co, Mo. He names a son --guess what? Christopher Maccabeus Jackson! And this son names a son Wm Christopher. Anyone connected to or interested in these lines, please reply. Have found that it is helpful to lay them out and then rearrange as we delete bad info and add the good. Would also like to have info on your line if it connects.

The men encountered a guy selling old GI dog tags from US servicemen who were killed during the Viet Nam War. They were disgusted by the thought of this man profiting from the sale of these tags. Upon returning to the U.S., they decided to go back to Viet Nam and purchase ALL the dog tags. They did so, paying 19 cents per tag! They brought home several hundred tags. The plan is to return the tags to surviving family members, when they can find them. The process has already begun with one set being turned over to a grieving Mom on July 4th, (coincidentally, it was on her birthday)! These two men have set up a website, "http://www.founddogtags.com" listing the names of all those whose tags they purchased. If you lost friends, family, or know of someone who lost a loved one in Viet Nam, I suggest you check out this website. If you recognize a name, there's an e-mail address to contact these two men and to help in their efforts to return the dogtag to it's rightful survivor. I'm sure a family member would be eternally grateful to have such an important item returned. Please help by checking this website. And please send the website address to everyone you know. The more people who see the lists, the greater the chance of returning ALL the tags to those who lost loved ones in Viet Nam!

My Dye family was in Caswell, NC during the 1800, however I have not gotten beyond 1828 in my Jackson research in NC. I do believe that around 1830 my 3rd great grandfather left NC and his sons listed their father in TN !!! There could be a connection especially with the name of Mary Jackson, that was a name throughout my Jackson line. At this time I can't be of help except follow up on your leads. If you want to give me more information on the census you have I can do some research and see if there is a connection.
