I was researching in the Washington Memorial Library in Macon GA. They have an extensive genealogical library there & if you've never been, it's well worth a trip. Samuel was born abt 1823 in Perquimans Co., NC. Martha (widow) died 6 Feb 1904 and is buried in Calcutta Cemetery.

I know that they married sometime in the early 1860's in Decatur County, Indiana. I have record of their children living with Melinda's mother, Sarah Lawson in the 1880 census, but do not know what became of these two. My great-aunt told me that they left their children, along with her grandfather with their grandmother and took off.
