Surnames: Jackson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Xgk.2ACEB/7774 Message Board Post: I am looking for any leads concerning the Jackson's of Calloway County, Kentucky. According to the 1850 census of Calloway, KY, (Calloway, Kentucky, 1st District, Series 432, Roll 194, Pg. 477b) the following people are listed: I. Jackson 50 y.o. m. SC (this is Isaiah Jackson) A. Jackson 47 y.o. f. NC (this is America Jackson) S. Jackson 37 y.o. f. KY (unknown) J.B.E. Jackson 14 y.o. m. (John Benjamin Eziel Jackson, son, my grandfather) C.W.B. Jackson 12 y.o. m. (Christopher W.B. Jackson, son) N.M. Jackson 7 y.o. f. (Nancy M. Jackson, daughter) Below them: W.D. Wright 18 y.o. m. (believe him to be son-in-law) P. Wright 17 y.o. f. (believe to be daughter of above) This family moved to Dallas County, Missouri about 1858. Both Isaiah and America are married there. Isaiah was listed on the 1840, but not the 1830 Calloway Census. Somehow I think that they linked up to the Robison family of Carroll County, TN earlier, for their son, John, went down to TN and married her there and then returned to KY, had a child and then moved on to MO. Any HELP here would be greatly appreciated. Ray Jackson

He was born in Missouri, possibly Buchanan County. He was living with his grandfather, James A. Hopper (and step-grandmother, Ada). This is so exciting! I actually have quite a bit of information from Goodin's decendants, so drop me a line and I'll fill you in on what I've found and let you know what I'm sure is pretty reliable and what isn't. Just and FYI, too, in case you're interested, Goodin served in the Civil War for the Union side (I believe) and was with the 16th MO Cav., Co. C (I may have that backwards), and I know that's a fact - we have copies of paperwork regarding his military service.
