    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Xgk.2ACEB/7956 Message Board Post: Hello! I am helping my 83-year-old mother to do research on her family. Her name is Ruth Louise Jackson Sinclair (Mrs. John P. Green). Born in Waltham, Massachusetts, she now lives in Somers Point, New Jersey. My mother's grandmother (her mother's mother) was Flora Estelle Conner (Mrs. Edward Cross Jackson) of Lewiston, Maine. She is buried in Waltham. Flora Conner Jackson's sister, Inez Conner, married Atwood Joseph Jackson of Jefferson, Maine. He died in 1939 and she died in 1947 and they are both buried in Jefferson. The parents of Atwood Jackson were: Joseph Jackson, Jr. who was born June 29, 1819 in Jefferson, Maine and died December 1, 1883 in Jefferson and Arletta Flagg Jackson who was born in September 1824 and died June 1, 1883 in Jefferson. They had nine children. We would appreciate it very much if the descendants of the children of Joseph Jackson, Jr. and Arletta Flagg Jackson would contact us. Recently we learned that Joseph Jackson, Jr. 's grandfather was Captain Samuel Jackson who was born September 6, 1754 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and died November 3, 1826 in Jefferson, Maine. My mother and I would very much like to know who were the parents of Samuel Jackson so that we can trace the Jackson family further back. Thank you very much for your kind assistance in our research. Sincerely, Susan M. Grady Alexandria, Virginia

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Jackson, Caldwell, Ewing, Maulding Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Xgk.2ACEB/7954 Message Board Post: Logan Co., KY, Courthouse Centennial Celebration, 1904-2004 We are celebrating the anniversary of our present courthouse and have done research on the court proceedings from 1792 through present. Jacksons, Caldwells, Ewings and Mauldings are of special interest since those four families were leaders in the settlement of our county and in the formation of our first courts. Burwell Jackson was one of the first three magistrates in 1792 when the county was formed. We had opening ceremonies earlier but are planning the closing ceremonies for the courthouse anniversary during our Tobacco and Heritage Festival. Closing ceremony will be on October 6, 2004, at 4:00 p.m. at the courthouse on West 4th Street, Russellville, KY. We would like to invite any of the family interested in attending to be recognized at this time. It won't be a large formal affair but will be a part of the local street festival and usually a beautiful time in Logan County. If anyone plans to attend, we would like to know about it so they could be recognized then. Another activity the same weekend in which the Ewings especially would be interested is the 9th annual Primitive Camp Meeting and Rendezvous at Red River Meeting House at Schochoh, KY. This will be held October 8-10 and if interested, you should contact Tom Ruley, 202 Morris Street, Franklin, KY 42134, 270-586-7632 or email at backwoodsministry@hotmail.com or go to website at www.redriverrevival.com At the revival, there will be Saturday and Sunday morning services at 10:00 a.m., history lessons each day at 2:00 p.m. and church services each night at 7:00 p.m. There will be many demonstrations for the public on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Contact him if you are interested in this.
