Author: Maryiola Surnames: Jackson Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.jackson/13018.4/mb.ashx Message Board Post: There is a rootsweb Jackson list and Ancestry (this) message board, There is a Yahoo Jackson group, an Australian Jackson group and a UK Jackson group and a DNA study of Jacksons. I imagine there are several by invite only Jackson groups. I'm sure you might find cousins on almost any of these groups if you have done enough tracing to get back 5 or 6 generations. You would be very welcome on any of them. I think Jackson is listed as one of the 6 most common names. If you are related to my Jackson group which you can visit by going to my page on Rootsweb let me know [email protected] http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~bird/ Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: whitel1968 Surnames: Jackson, Gardner, Woodend, Coward Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.jackson/13018.3.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I agree that it would be most helpful and save a lot of people a lot of time if you say where your Jackson line comes from. I also have Jacksons in my family tree. Most of them come from the Dalton-in-Furness and Ulverston area of Cumbria (it was part of Lancashire before), England. If you're not familiar with England, this is in the northwest, near the Irish Sea. I have my tree posted in two places, under My Jackson Gardner Family File on ancestry.com and on genesreunited.com. I have found that there were many lines of Jacksons in that area of England alone, so stating area is helpful to others. I have collected a lot of documentation and am willing to share with anyone who believes they're a part of my family tree. I would go someplace else. I would figure you did not want to share your Jackson line with others. You have not stated where your website is. If it is on ancestry.com, I would not be able to look at it, because I don't have ancestry.com. So please at least post where your tree is located. my website it located at www.sanders.tribalpages.com I do have Jackson's in my tree and my tree is NOT password protected. I want people to be able to look. The only things that are password protected are pictures and living people. Thank you. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
