    2. Wayne Woodward
    3. I have just joined the Jackson List. In 1932 my Mother made a Woodward-Jackson Family Tree. The Jackson side starts with: William Jackson (1797 October 13 - 1869 June 19) married 1823 July Amelia Hillman They had 7 children. It is the third child: Christeann Bounty Jackson (1835 June 30 - 1901 December 12) who married 1852 December 30 Isaac L. Woodward and thus became my great grandmother. Both families were at least partly established in Greensburg, Decatur County, IN and thus I send this notice to both Decatur and Jackson Lists. Can anyone connect me with other Jackson ancestors? I will be glad to share images of this Family Tree with anyone via Email. Wayne Woodward, 1752 Waycona Drive, Jackson, MS, 39204-3527, 601-373-8644, [email protected]

    3. I was fascinated by your reference to Sir Anthony having been from Lancashire England. My great grandfather John H. Jackson was born in Bacup Lancashire England. I know nothing of his ancestry - I know he married a Pennsylvania Dutch woman by the name of Martha Disher and ended up in Ridgeway ON Canada although they lived briefly in Niagara Falls NY where my grandfather was born in 1883. Douglas Jackson McCready son of Margaret Ann (Jackson) McCready daughter of Walter Jackson son of John H. Jackson son of John Jackson (so far as I can figure out)

Author: pruf4it Surnames: Jackson, Babcock Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.jackson/13061/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have records for a double marriage on 2 Mar 1908 in Orange Co., Indiana. The parties were: Roy Babcock b.ca 1888 to Zora Jackson b.ca 1887 - and - John Jackson b.1887 to Zora Babcock b.1889 (Elzora) John and Zora Jackson were siblings according to info on the records, children of William and Mary Ida Jackson, so it would seem Elzora and Roy were also siblings but apparently not so. Elzora was dau of Joseph L. & Sarah Babcock but Joseph and Sarah show no son named Roy in their household. Sarah says she has 8 of 9 children living but that's the 1900 census and this marriage took place afterwards. All their children are accounted for in other marriages so Roy did not have 3 names. I have been unable to find any Babcock named Roy in the Indiana area and certainly he could have popped up from some other state but what a coincidence if so. And Roy nor Zora are ever found individually or as a couple after their marriage. Were there such people?? Did the county clerk make a big recording error confusing info given to him? Does anyone recognize Roy or Zora Babcock or know what happened to them if they existed? I have searched every which way and find no matches or anyone even similar. Thank you. Have you ever come across a Thomas Jackson that married a Mary Cheeseman of NY or New Jersey. He was in the Rev. War with Geo. Washington. I am unable to go back any further at this time to find any additional information as to parentage, etc for Thomas. I have seen death notices in the late 1800's and very early 1900's where the individual was related to the Pres. Andrew Jackson and Gen T.J. Jackson of the Civil War. These early families were Quakers. Thankyou, Gary from Ohio, USA P.S. Please contact me via personal e-mail. Author: wilso127 Surnames: Jackson Plantagenet Hildyard Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.jackson/13018.13/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I descend from Sir Anthony Jackson from Eccleston, Lancashire, who was in the service of the King Charles's I and II. Through his son also named Anthony, I descend down through Isaac Jackson of the Quaker village, Ballitore, County Kildare, to Quaker settlements in Chester County PA in the late 1790's. Sir Anthony's mother was an Ursula Hildyard, of Yorkshire, who was in turn of Rollo the Viking of Normandy-William the Conqueror-Edward I Longshanks (Plantagenet) direct descent. Sir Anthony is also an ancestor, through another son, to the forefather of both US President Andrew Jackson and US Confederate General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson. Sir Anthony also has another distiction that links him to London in the 17th Century. He and his wife were imprisoned in The Tower for awhile while the Cromwells and Parliament held sway in England. But fortunately for them, most of their children were avowed Cromwellians who obtained large tracts of conquered Irish Lands.
