I assume he had relatives in Kansas that brought him there. I have never been able to prove it though. Here is his linage, that i know to be true: Charles Lee Jackson -July 5, 1877 born in Georgia(my grandpa) John Lazarus Jackson- Born 1852 in Alabama James Edward or John--Born about 1830 in South Carolina. Do any of these names sound familiar? I do not have a Peter in my lineage , but it doesn't mean he isn't related. He could be from a silbling of James/John. An information would be helpful. Author: wilso127 Surnames: Jackson Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.jackson/13089/mb.ashx Message Board Post: According to an item in Volume X, page 255 in the "Pennsylvania Treason List of 1783", evidently republished in 1854 and held in the Pennsylvania State Archives, a man named JOHN JACKSON, possibly from Chester County, PA, was charged with treason for his role in contracting with the British Army of Occupation in Philadelphia to supply the troops with blankets. I haven't seen this publication, but have a reference to it from an item in the Philadelphia (Quaker) Yearly Meeting notes for the year 1788.
