    2. Hello Mr. Mc Stay Jackson & greetings from Ormond Beach, Fl.! I had no idea any Jackson's lived so close! I'm sure we're not related, but I couldn't resist writing! My Jackson's begin with John Warren Jackson, b. 1754 in Md. His father is "believed" to be Thomas, no further info. known about him. John Warren moved with his father to N.C. when he was about 13 I believe. (writing this from memory??) He married, fought in the Rev. War, & raised a family in Ga. My brick wall is find documentation on his father & being able to go "backwards" from there. If you know or see something I don't, please contact me. Or just contact me because we're Jacksons! Take Care! 2. Hello, In your post, you stated Martha Jane was d/o Benjamin Jackson. Do you know if Benjamin had a brother, John Warren Jackson, b. 1754? John W. also had a daughter named Martha Jane, I believe. (doing this from memory!!?) The name Martha Jane has been passed down through the generations! Also, do you know who Benjamin Jacksons parents were? Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks so much, look forward to hearing from you! Susan Jackson

I think that Mary Harbin's father was Julius Harbin b 1799. Actually, I'm pretty sure. Julious and Caroline Harbin are in the 1850 census of Carroll Co. They appear again in the 1860 census of Carroll Co as Julius and C.M.- Mary is not with them in either record (of course, she is with Benjamin H. Hughes in 1860- I haven't yet found her in 1850.) But what makes me connect them to Mary is that Kittie Hughes Bible record states about the siblings of Mary Harbin: "Sue married John Lee." I found this to be Susan E. Harbin and John Henry Lee. They are in the 1870 Census as such. Then, next door living as an "invalid" is Caroline Harbin, aged 72. Also, I just received some copies of probate records and a newspaper clipping concerning Julius Harbin that I plan to post on my tree this weekend. Thought you would like an update! If anyone else has any comments or feedback, I'd love to hear it! More later, cuzins, Noel Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. That is why the DNA is so important. It can really open doors to connections that you may not have thought of. Another site is www.smgf.org. This is the site we are using to figure out our Hicks side of the family. There is no fee involved; however, there are differences between the testing methods and results of all the testing organizations. We weren't sure if we could get anyone to donate their DNA, so felt safer using the no-fee test just in case we could not get a taker. Good luck and I will keep my fingers crossed for you. I know exactly how you feel because it is not the easiest thing to ask a person to give you his DNA. Print out the information from the website to help them understand better what you are trying to accomplish with the testing. This seems to make it a little easier.
