His parents, William (b. Tennessee) and Mary Childs Francis Jackson (b. Missouri), married about 1863 and landed in California in the spring of 1864, San Luis Obispo, then Lompoc in Santa Barbara County. Fred had 7 direct siblings (Logan, Grant, Robert, Adeline, Laura, Julia, Harriet) all born in California 1864-1884(except Julia, born in Nevada) and 6 "half" siblings (Balsora or Sarah, Rose, William Coleman, Walter King, Thomas Jefferson and John Bruce) all born in Missouri (and all traveled to California with their father and new wife) from father's previous marriage to Martha Jane Bruce (she died in 1860 in Missouri). I am most interested in the Southern California branch of the Jackson family as until about 10 years ago, I believed Fred to be an only child, therefore, have very little information other than facts and figures. Kelly Lynn Jackson Kelly Lynn Jackson, age 36, an Assistant Manager at Ferry Farm Wal-Mart, Fredericks-burg, Virginia, died August 8, 2008 due to complications of cancer at Mary Washington Hospital. Mrs. Jackson was born Kelly Lynn Green in Abington, Pennsylvania on November 4, 1971, lived in Fredericksburg, Va. She graduated from Courtland High School in 1989 where she participated in Girl's Basketball and field hockey. She attended Austin Peavy University in Clarksville, Tennessee for two years. Kelly was baptized and became a member of Little Union Baptist Church, Dumfries, Va. She is survived by her husband, Shelton Jackson; four children, Tyler, Shawn, Sierra, and Josiah; her parents, James R. Green, Sr., Pastor of Little Union Baptist Church, and Minister Louise Green, First Lady, one sister, Phyllis Simms, husband, Darren, of Charlotte, N.C.; two brothers, Jeffrey Green, wife, Rosiland, of Grafenberg, Germany and James R. Green, Jr., of Lorton, Va. She is also survived by five nieces, three nephews, one great-niece and a host of family and friends. Kelly's funeral will be on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at the Little Union Baptist Church in Dumfries, Va. My GGG Grandfather Alfred or Alford Jackson was b. 1814 in NC within 5 miles of the VA line. He was orphaned at an early age and was raised by an unknown cousin. He possibly spent some time in Wake Co before traveling to Al & then to MS by early 1830's. He ran away from his cousin at age 16. His census information indicates both his parents were also born in NC. By process of elimination I'm trying to refine the search for his parents. My 5th Great Grandfather, William JACKSON, was born about 1745 in Brayton, Yorkshire, England, and was buried on 2 September 1789 also in Brayton. William JACKSON married Hannah WRIGHT (born about 1749 in Brayton) on 23 November 1760 in Brayton. They had at least 2 children; Edward JACKSON (born about 1766 in Newland, Yorkshire) and Thomas JACKSON (born about 1777 in Brayton, christened 5 August 1777, and died between 1851 and 1861 probably in Newland). Later generations of JACKSONs moved to Goole, Yorkshire and lived there until at least the late 1990s.
