Hi Frank and all, Quite some time back I found a Jack Ivester who was killed in a coal mine in Dayton, Rhea (pronounced Ray) County, TN. I thought that it was probably Jackson Alexander Ivester, the son of John and Priscilla Murphey, but I had nothing to substantiate it and you had no information on him or his family either. Subsequently, I found information for a Jack A. Ivester (born abt 1896) on the 1910 Rhea County, census living with Hezekiah and Carrie Genoe in Rhea County, TN. I surmised that he was probably the son of Jackson A. Ivester who had remarried a Carrie. Just before Christmas I located a descendant who confirmed that Jack A. was her father and her grandfather, Jack was killed in a coal mine explosion before her father was born. Her father was Jackson Alexander Ivester, but never used Jr. Are you interested in information on this family? Edna --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Plus - Powerful. Hi Edna, Yes I am interested in information on the Jackson Alexander Ivester family. He is an older brother to my Grandfather, Philip W. Ivester. I do have some information about him. The information I have is that He was born Dec 15, 1856 in Georgia. Was married on Dec 27, 1881 in Bradley Co TN to Laura Hagler who died on July 13, 1891. I thought they had two sons but I have no record of that. I have that he died on Dec 20, 1895 in Dayton, Rhea Co TN. I show a second marriage for him on June 25, 1892 in Rhea Co TN to a Carrie Hughes. I have no information on her and am not sure where I got the marriage information. If you have any other information on Jackson I would like to see it.
