HI Everyone, Am sure that all of you know by now that Hugh Ivester (Isbister) came from the Orkney Island on the ship Marlborough as an indentured servant to Thomas Brown. Now.. Thomas Brown was quite a person in the Revolution - for the British. A year or so ago Edna found a book on Thomas Brown - The King's Ranger: Thomas Brown and the American Revolution on the Southern Frontier by Edward J. Cashin. It is very interesting to read. This book also won the 1990 Fraunces Tavern Book Award of the American Revolution Round Table. There are also several web sites that have information about Thomas Brown. I thought some of you might enjoy checking them out as well. FLORIDA SOCIETY SONS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION New Port Richey Florida Chapter Augusta.com - Ultimate source of news, information, and entertainment for Augusta, Georgia. index Royal Provincial Ranger Corps American Revolution in South Carolina: By Topic -- South Carolina Historical Society Has copies of letters to Brown - do a find on the name Brown Reading American Revolution in South Carolina: By Date -- South Carolina Historical Society The Olive Tree Genealogy: Loyalist Databases Mayham Tower Moses Kirkland Loyalist Institute: Index to King's Carolina Rangers History Battle of the Siege of Savannah SATILLA RIVER: SITE OF FORT MCINTOSH Lossing's Field Book of the Revolution, Vol. II., Chapter XIX. Hope all these links work for you.
