    3. Hi Dave and Emma, Regarding the discussion of Jennie and Henning Leander Ivester, thanks for the updates. I do have a little more info from an obit for Jennie which appeared in the Greenville (SC) News 2 Jul 1943 on p.18. The obit is on microfilm at the Greenville Public Library in case you want to get a copy, Dave. I made a handwritten summary of the obit. which is as follows: MRS. JENNIE GREER IVESTER - HONEA PATH Mrs. Jennie Greer Ivester, 57, died suddenly this afternoon (1 Jul) at 2:15 PM while at work at the Chiquola Mill. She was the widow of Lee Ivester and the daughter of D.P. Greer and Sanantha (Samantha?) Leach Greer. She is survived by a son, J.D. Ivester, and two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Thompson and Mrs. Virginia Black. Also surviving are two brothers, B.G. and C.R. Greer, and two sisters, Mrs Lizzie Pruitt and Miss Annie Greer. Funeral arrangements are to be announced. Hope this helps. Maybe Gary could update us on their family. Mother never told me that I was named after her cousin. Dave I recently saw some information on the web regarding Henning Leandre Ivester and his widow Jennie. Henning was/ is my grandfather. I was named for him...Gary Henning. His wife was Jennie Greer Ivester. Henning was killed in a train accident in 1917(?) around Columbia, SC. My father, James David Ivester was only two at the time. Joel Black, referred to in the e-mail I saw, is my uncle. His wife, Viginia was my Dad's sister. Hope this might help. Gary Ivester --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
