    3. Emma, Another mistake my notes are correct, but I typed the wrong answer. George O. was the s/o Peter Thomas, s/o Jacob and Mary Jane Carnahan Ivester. Whoops, while I was typing this I found what I was doing to cause the errors. Robert H. etc. was part of the next answer. Which I will answer now . This one has to do with Bessie, James, Jim, Jasper, Joseph et al. So I will begin with the Census. 1920 Oconee County, SC Tugaloo Twp E.D.144-19A Image 37 Adams, Jessie M. Head O F 63 M SC SC SC Farmer Amanda J. Wife 60 M SC SC SC Rebecca B. dau 36 M SC SC SC Bertha dau 28 S SC SC SC Nora dau 21 S SC SC SC Codie dau 18 S SC SC SC Ivester, James grandson 9 S SC SC SC Ivester, Joseph grandson 7 S SC SC SC 1930 Census Oconee County, SC Tugaloo Twp E.D.13-7B Image 14 123-130 Adams, Jessie M. Head O 73 M 21 SC SC SC Farm Operator Manda J. wife-H 71 M 19 SC SC SC Hair , Mary sister 72 WD SC SC SC Housekeeper pvt home Carter Willie Grandson 9 S SC SC SC 124- 130 Ivister, Bessie Head-H R 40 WD SC SC SC Farm opera James son 19 S SC GA SC Farm laborer Jasper Son 18 SW GA GA SC Farm laborer James "Jim" was b. 1 Jun 1910 in Oconee County d. 25 Apr 1993 Walhalla, Oconee, SC m. Ora Gladys Jones b. 21 Aug 1911 d. 10 Mar 1979 d. Westminster, Oconee, SC. They share a double marker at Oconee Memorial Gardens, Seneca, Oconee, SC which reads "Jim" Ivester and lists his parents as Jim and Bessie Adams Ivester. So Jim was a James Ivester, Jr. " Bessie" is listed as Rebecca B. on the 1920 census so "Bessie" was likely her nickname and her given name was Rebecca Beatrice. She was b. 30 Jan 1886- d. 2 Sep 1976 and she is buried at Unity Bapt. Church in Oconee County, SC. Jasper Ivester was listed as Joseph on the 1920 census, but as Jasper on subsequent records. He is the Jasper Ivester that you have an obit for his daughter Dorothy Victory Ivester Murphy listed on "Need to ID Part 3 p.2". It shows his wife as Eva Swafford Moore. It also gives the names of their children. Thanks for this info now I can do further searching. Now here is where Robert H. Ivester came in. He had a son James that seems to be the only James available who could have been the husband of Bessie and the father of Jim and Jasper. The census indicates that James, Sr. and Jasper were born in Georgia. I have not found the 1910 Census for James,Sr and Bessie and they should be on it since Jim, Jr. was born in June of that year. Also, James, Sr. may have been still living in 1920 since Rebecca B.'s marital status was M. What do you have on this James?
