Remember earlier this week we were talking about everyone being related to Ivesters... well this is just another case. Catherine Matilda Vandiver (descendant of Sarah Boatright) married Landrum Taylor. Their daughter, Ella Taylor, married John Billups Stewart who is the brother of Trist Stewart who married Newell Bright Ivester. According to "The Heritage of Habersham County" - Catherine Matilda Vandiver was half Cherokee. Her mother was called "The Dove" and was the sister of Gray Eagle, Chief of the Cherokee at (I think) Tallulah Falls. This is found (in case you have the book) under John Stewart and Catherine Whisenant who were the parents of Lacy Stewart - who was the father of Trist Stewart Ivester. I wonder if Saddam Hussein had any relatives in Georgia... we might be related. Fran
