Edna, Martha and Thomas Littleton lived in Clarke Co. That is where they are buried. They perhaps were located in Oglethorpe for a while-I have no info pertaining to that at all. Jaley and Jacob themselves lived in area considered Clarke county. Jaley ann was buried in Cherokee county, if I am recalling all of this correctly. Think that info is the Ivester Book. There is a web site for the town of Winterville for a little futher local info. In regards to those last two daughters, I have looked over the material so many times and have also asked myself the same question. Was Martha Elizabeth his child? I am very careful with this question for there are descendants of Martha who vouch for her death date-as they were present at her funeral. So I don't want to stir up a bee's nest by asking too many questions without concern of possibly hurting others! There is another answer here I am sure. And am trying not to draw too many conclusions without some futher knowledge. Wonder if Jacob fathered Eliz just before his disappearance! She could have been born after he "disappeared." One thing that we find in the records of the "other Jacob R. Gable of Jackson county. His first child born to he and Emily was before their marriage date. The family there provided that for me. Jacob could have been playing both ends against the middle, if ya know what I mean! I have not discussed this question about the two Jacob's very much with anyone other than Phillip Gable, this list, although I have mentiond the two on passing with others. I do not want to make a major issue out of it because of possible error in judgement. And that time line between 1870 and 1880 is still open to many possibilites. Nothing worong about looking for the truth, but want to be careful here. and then there is Phillip. He would like to know the truth also. Because without following this up he may never know who is Gable family really is! A rock and a hard place this is. Oh yes, Great Aunt Bess Gabrels Duncan, Jasper's sister, died just a while ago. She remembers that the younger children of Jaley Ann and Jacob went to live with relatives, after Jacob did not find his way home! I am always wondering which children lived with which relatives! I have also scouted around in the surrounding counties for all of thes connected lines. but so few later census records are available on some of the sites. I also wonder if anything was recorded in the old newspapers about Jacob disappearing? Probably not. Judy
