Was going to respond to Judy about how I feel about it. Here's how I figure it...... We are all on here because in some way or another we are all related to Ivester folks. Those Ivester folks married someone.... and all those someones had a name. In some cases several people of the same family married an Ivester. So... all of us are not only hunting information on Ivester's - we are hunting information on those other names as well. So.. if they are an Ivester, married an Ivester, descended from an Ivester, or even a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd spouse I figure we are still within bounds. Another thing is... if you have been doing genealogy for any length of time you know that sometimes searching aligned families helps find something on your own line. Hope everyone is comfortable with this. Thanks and take care - Emma

    3. I sure appreciated the bantering since I am one of those researching all Ivester descendants regardless of their names. My father was an Ivester, but Jaley Ann and her descendants are related to my mother' s family (McClain).. I would like to mention a couple of points, first Jaley Ann was still in Rabun County listed on the census as a widow 5 Jun 1880. This would indicate that Jacob had "disappeared" by that time, and Jasper Newton, who was about age 10 and Martha Elizabeth born 2 May 1880 are not listed with their mother. It would seem that Newt was old enough to remember his father's disappearance, if it had occured near this time. If it occurred earlier say around 1875/6 that would fit. but then who fathered Martha Elizabeth? Secondly, Jaley Ann was living with Jasper Newton in Habersham County in June 1900 per the census. She is listed with her daughter, Martha Elizabeth and Thomas Littleton Ivester in Oglethorpe County 2 May 1910. I haven't found any records yet where she lived in Clarke or Oglethorpe Counties with Jacob. Can you tell me where to look? It is certainly an intriguing thought that Jacob may have started a third family. Edna ENC6@aol.com wrote: Thanks for saying that Regina, I appreciate it.
