You have been rather quiet recently. Boy... have you ever asked a great question. That initial "N" has caused a few concerns with several Ivester folks. I checked what I had on your John N. Ivester. I have actually checked the census records for him in the following: 1850 - listed and J. N. I. 1860 - not listed with family for some reason 1870 - listed as Jno. W. 1880 - listed as J. N. 1900 - listed as John N. 1920 - listed as John N. I believe he is listed in the 1910 soundex as John N. He is also John N. on the Muster Roll for Co., E, 16th Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry I just checked and could not find the Mullins Ford Baptist Church cemetery online to see what his tombstone says. Perhaps someone the list has been there. As far as I know I have only seen it listed John Newton in Janice's book. I don't know if she got it from the tombstone or not. Sorry for such a long answer but I guess we might not know for sure what his middle name is. Maybe someone else can help - hope so. Think your Christmas idea is a wonderful one - take care - Emma
