There were seveal census records and other documents that had recorded both of Jacob's wives under strange spellings. In one Melberry was recorded as Melborne. Jaley ann Ivester McClain's name was "slaughtered" many times. Once she recorded as Julia I think. Or some other strange spelling-so don't let that throw ya! This census was also one ot the few records that ever revealed his middle initial, we are not certain that it was even coreect. But the "other Jacob matching him found in Jackson County also used the initial R! Judy
