    2. Boy.. are you ever right. This one is a problem in more ways than one. But part of the problem is that they keep changing names so it is hard to keep up with them. You will find postings on lots of lists from folks who have sent them money only to discover it is fraud. You might like to check this web site for additional information: http://blacksheep.rootsweb.com/ And... I would like to add another bit of information here. While I am not out to start a major discussion on this topic I would like to offer an explanation of my feelings. There is actually a big discussion right now on the listowners mail list concerning sending this type of information to the mail lists. Some list admins feel this is off topic and should not be sent while others feel they should warn folks on their lists and keep others from being "taken". I tend to believe that "warnings" or information like this is helpful and don't view them as off topic. The subject is genealogy and I would hate to see any one on this list or any other spend money and get nothing in return. At the same time, be cautious in posting this kind of information on other lists. Some lists admins do not feel the same as I do.... <g> Thanks for sharing this. There is a new/old scam going on at www.genseekers.com By new/old I mean they had this scam before a few years ago, but now they are back! Please don't fall for this scam. They basically charge you for information that is free elsewhere on the web and offer "5 days free trial before you buy" BUT, (and this is a big but!) in order to get this "free" trial, you have to give your credit card info and cancel within 5 days (that should ALWAYS be a warning sign of a scam)! Here is a copy of a message that I received about it. Please pass this on, especially to genealogist who are new to the internet.
