    3. OK, Trent thanks for the apology, but you have to apologize five more times before we give you a pass. I spent half my childhood in Texas and you are right, if we can't laugh at ourselves once in a while, then who can we laugh at. I make fun of myself all the time. 3. Regina, You sure didn't offend this SC native - gave me a good laugh. Unfortunately, we live in the United States Of The Offended where some folks look for any excuse to take offense. I wouldn't let it worry me. Merry Christmas! 1. [IVESTER] Snow and More Snow
    2. Reggina, you put a curse on us when you mentioned the snow in Reno in one of your previous e-mails. I hope all is settled in your neck of the woods by now, but we are under seige. We had horrible wind storms here on Thursday - 89 miles per hour at my house and on the nearby mountain top, they measured one gust at 134 mph. There are still 5,000 homes in our area without power and it is snowing like there's no end. We've had a mixture of rain and snow for the past two days - 2-l/2 inches of snow yesterday, more today, and in between, we got one and a half inches of rain... so when the temps drop below freezing tonight, all of Reno will be one large skating rink. The good part is the news/weather guy just said we'll probably have more snow on Christmas. Fran

    3. Hi Dee, Those of us who use PAF have a wonderful feature that allows one to compute relationships painlessly. Emma and George Walter are 4th cousins once removed their common ancestors are Hugh and Barbara. While I was at it, I decided to check how I am related to George Walter. He and I are related 2 ways: first, we are 2nd cousins twice removed, and second, we are 3rd cousins once removed. Our common ancestor is George N. So, you and I are related 2 ways, also. First, you and I are 4th cousins, and second, we are 4th cousins once removed, and our common ancestor is George N. My father used to tell me if you meet an Ivester he's (she's) a relative. I am collecting all Ivester info. - especially in terms of census, b & d dates, m dates, etc. and putting them into a database. That way perhaps it will help someone else. Although everyone on this mail list right now are from the Southern group from Hugh and Barbara I am also adding census records from other Ivester's as well. So if you are aware of any census records I would really appreciate you letting me know the location, state, county, pg #, etc. The indexes are not correct and most of the time it means scrolling through page by page which is very time consuming. Edna is also working on this. Hope this helps - take care - Emma
