Is anyone else seeing this in their messages? Gayle - are all the digests this way or only the messages from me? This is going to be tied to an AOL concern. Apparently AOL and digest form don't exactly like each other. But what I don't know for sure is whether it is on the sender or receiver's end. Which is why I need to know if anyone else is seeing this or not. I checked my copy of the digest and did not see it. Will do some additional checking and get back to you. Take care - Emma

Hi Edna, That helps and it also helps fit in a couple of other things that I had. Found a little bit that said that a Venia Ivester md a Ray Burdette in 1924 - that is probably Viola Verna. Then... we are doing pretty good with the children of William D. & Emma. Also found this - Lamar Ivester md Rosa Burdette on Sept. 27, 1924. This would also be a son of William D & Emma. Now.. the only children I don't have spouses for of their children are Horace H. and Henry Oliver. Have you found anything on them yet? And you are right about assuming.... <g> You and I had a big discussion a few months ago about these twins - whether they were male or female, etc. - one probably dying, etc..... LOL. Since I usually delete them after I answer I am a bit puzzled. So... if this is a duplicate then please forgive me but.... The answer is no - the Nancy Jane Ivester who married John Asbury Roberts is not the daughter of Asa Monroe Ivester. Asa Monroe Ivester is my great grandfather - and that Nancy Jane was a sister to my grandfather John Wesley Ivester. She did die young. Remember that discussion we had about the William Lester Ivester family a while back. Edna found William Lester Ivester - son of William Lester Ivester and maggie Lou Alice Mullinax - in Texas where he died in 1962 in Comal Co., Texas. In that information she found that they had a daughter who married a Melvin Adams. We did not have a first name for that daughter - only the name of her husband. I found this - bet this is the daughter.... Spartanburg Herald and Herald Journal Obituaries Index ADAMS, BRENDA IVESTER 25, Spartanburg, w/o J. Melvin Adams, 5–29–66 p. C4 ADAMS, J. MELVIN 26, Spartanburg, h/o Brenda Ivester Adams, 5–29–66 p. C4 Take care everyone - Emma

I went back to that 1920 census record we were struggling to read a couple of months ago and it makes sense now. That c ensus record should read: 1920 - Honea Path, Anderson Co., SC - ED #46 - pg. 8B - 168/169 - image #16 Anderson, Mrs. Jane - head - 59 - wd - SC-SC-SC Greer, Anna - niece - 25 - s - SC-SC-SC Greer, Lilia - niece - 30 - s - SC-SC-SC - Labor Cotton Mill Greer, C???? - daughter - 23 - s - SC-SC-SC - Clerk Leach, Miss Minnie - sister - 50 - s SC-SC-SC Ivester, Mrs. Jennie - niece - 33 - wd - SC-SC-SC Hazel - grandchild - 4 - s - SC-SC-SC Virginia - grandchild - 7 - s - SC-SC-SC J. D. - grandchild - 5 - s - SC-SC-SC Still can't read the name for C. Greer - It looks like Clifton but that would not make sense for a daughter. We had already figured that the designation grandchild was in error. And that word next to Jennie does look like niece. Here is what I have for the 1930 census: Honea Path, Anderson Co., SC - ED #33 - pg. 5B - 104/111 - img. #10: Ivester, Jennie - head - 40 - wd - SC-SC-SC - Laborer Cotton Mill Hazel - daughter - 18 - s - SC-SC-SC Virginia - daughter - 17 - s - SC-SC-SC J. D. - son - 14 - s - SC-SC-SC Leach, Minnie - aunt - 54 - s - SC-SC-SC Greer, Annie - sister - 30 - s - SC-SC-SC Don't you like the way all these folks aged????? <g> Take care - Emma
