    3. Thank you, Edna. That confirms our family ties. We knew the Grizzles when we lived in Greenville back in the 60's but didn't know we were related. I became friends with their son Audrey (Aubrey) and we were on the local boxing team together. Audrey had attended LSU on a boxing scholarship but dropped out and joined the Army. Unfortunately, Audrey developed severe emotional and psychological problems during his military service leading to very strange behavior after his discharge. His condition worsened and eventually led to homicide and prison where he died. Audrey was a very intelligent person but he was so obsessed by what he considered to be an injustice inflicted upon him by the Army that he let it drive him over the edge. A very tragic story about a basically good family. Thanks again. I have the papers where they went to a lawyer for her to give away her rights to the property for them to sell also have letter from his lawyer requesting their money for defending him. I have had cataract operation on both eyes and am to get new glasses tomorrow so will get out the letters again and look up dates when I can see better. Did you get my new e-mail address? 2. Hi Ruby, Jacob Foster and Elizabeth Davis had a daughter Lula M. Ivester b. Jan. 1894. Jacob W. Ivester and Suzie had a daughter Pauline Ivester b. abt 1929. Her first name could have been Lula and named after Jacob W.'s half sister. I am thinking that the ration book probably belongs to this Pauline Ivester. She would have been 14 about 1943 which would have been during WWII. And... keep going through those papers - no telling what you might find... <g> Take care - Emma In a message dated 2/9/2003 2:22:12 PM Central Standard Time, RMEASL@aol.com writes: Emma Also found something I found interesting War Ration Book No., 3 made out to Lula Pauline Ivester age 14, white, 110 pounds, 5 ft 2 lived in Dexter, Mo. there are still some stamps left. 1. Re: [IVESTER] from the Jacob Ivester & Nancy Massy Family
    2. Hi Ruby, And now some more questions about this part of your message. Jacob Foster Ivester - son of Jacob Ivester & Nancy Massy married 3 times: 1. Francis Norman - 2 children, Ida Em July 1880 & Marion Labot 11 July 1883 2. Elizabeth Davis - 3 children: Alice L. Feb 1886, Lula M. Jan 1894, Barbara E. Sept. 1896 3. Amanda C. Neal Heflin - 1 child: Jacob W. Ivester 14 Feb 1904. Amanda then timed 25 Aug 1904 Jacob W. Ivester md a Suzie and had 2 children: Pansy May abt 1829 and Pauline abt 1929. You talk about Jacob F. Ivester and his wife Lena K. Ivester selling some land. If this is Jacob Foster Ivester do you suppose he married a 4th time? Do you know when the sale of this land took place? Now... I also found this: Ivester, Jacob vs. Lena Ivester, Decree for Pltf, Bk5, pg612, 29 Mar 1923 Ivester, John A. vs. Jane Ivester, Decree made final, BkM, pg349, 6 Mar 1889 Ivester, Susie vs. J.W. Ivester, Decree to Pltf; care & custody of minor child to Pltf, Bk13, pg386, 9 Apr 1936 We know who John A. Ivester was - he was the son of Jacob Ivester and Nancy Massy. The J. W. Ivester is Jacob W. Ivester - son of Jacob Foster Ivester and Amanda C. Neal Heflin. But which Jacob married a Lena and which Jacob was actually charged with murder.... Jacob Foster or his son Jacob W......Wild isn't it... <g> I am leaning toward Jacob Foster Ivester as the one married to a Lena and divorcing her in 1923. What do you think? Anyone else - any ideas???????? I did find that in 1945 a Jacob Ivester was convicted of "Carnal Knowledge" in Stoddard Co., Mo and sentenced to 10 years in the "pen". I am rather figuring that was Jacob W. Ivester, the son. Oh... Jacob W. Ivester - the son of Jacob Foster Ivester was apparently known as Jake. I have not found Jacob Foster or any of his family in the 1920 census. Has anyone else?????? Thanks - Emma In a message dated 2/9/2003 2:10:33 PM Central Standard Time, RMEASL@aol.com writes: . I have been going through some old papers Mom gave me of grand dad it shows he was administrator of his father's John A. Ivester. It has all kinds of quick deeds and things in it.
