Hi all, Have been working late this week. Am back sending some of the messages from the old mail list to the new one on Rootsweb.com... Take care - Emma
Edna.. if you receive this please reply. Thanks - Emma
Thanks Emma for all your help. A few weeks ago someone asked, " Who is Ernest Gaston Ivester?" Well I finally found him in my stacks of paper. He is the son of Rupert Amzi Ivester, s/o Edley M., s/o John, s/o Jacob, s/o Hugh. He appeared on the 1900, 1910, and 1920 censuses for Cleveland County, NC. If you need more info on this line let me know. Edna --------------------------------- Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail Personal Address - Get email at your own domain with Yahoo! Mail.

I just really feel that your Jacob goes back to Hugh and I also think my Jacob does too. In the 1820 census of Rutherford Co., NC John Ivester - son of Hugh and Barbara is listed with 2 young children. I wonder if one of those sons was my Jacob and one of them the John that is the father of your Jacob. And now just a reminder to all of you.. These messages with the dates in the subject area are an effort to move over to RootsWeb all the old messages from the old yahoo mail list. No tech person could give me any other idea of how to get them over there so that they would be searchable later. I am so sorry about sending them all to you and you can just delete them if you like. To All:Hello again...I was just looking through my records again on my Jacob...andhe listed on one of his pension papers that he was born March 28, 1839 inRadford County, N.C. Is anyone familiar with that county?Jacobs' mothers name was Cary or Corra depending upon which MO. census youread...1850 or 1860.What's even more confusing is that almost everyone of his children havelisted on their death certificates (obviously filled out by spouses orchildren) as to Jacobs' birthplace as Georgia. We obviously know that itwas N.C., but there appears to be some reason for the Georgia influence.Since Francis is so great at theories...here's one of my own for my Jacob. He first shows up in MO. at 8-10 yrs.old with his mother and sisters livingin the Wm. C. Eddington household...how & why? Why did they move to MO?Suppose his father (John) either died in NC or on route to MO. She eithermet this Eddington man on the way or in MO?...I seem to have read somewherethat there were several Eddingtons' in TN...maybe they met on the way to MO.in TN? Anyway the big question is what happened to John?..did he die inNC,SC,GA,TN or somewhere else on the way? We may never know...somethingelse to ponder!Mike
