Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state. Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb The lists were fun while there was a lot of activity. Best, Sandi

Danny, The Johnson name is a difficult one to get a handle on---too common. However, I have a gg-grandfather Carroll Johnson, probably born c1841 in IL ,son, also Carroll. and daughters Ida Belle (my g-grandmother), Annie, Mattie (and possibly) Alice, Susannah and Dora, as well as possible sons Chase (or Charles) and Benjamin. I knew Ida Belle and of Annie, Mattie and Carroll, only, and Ida Bell was, supposedly, born near Springfield, MO , 19June1869; dod 06Feb1946, Highland, IL and interred at Wamego, KS. I believe Ida Belle was part Native American and resided in AR or OK when her daughter, my grandmother, Bertha A. Rodgers was born. gg-grandad Carroll F. Johnson's wife was either Sarah or Ellen, born TN c1847. As you can see, I have very little actual/factual information and find that sometimes people adjusted their history to suit the times they lived in, but if any of this fits in with your Johnsons, please let me know...W. <danny151@centurytel.net> wrote: I would like to correspond with family members related to me. Hi All: An email friend in San Antonio, TX emailed me about the fires in OK earlier today. I was shocked since I've heard nothing about them on ABC news I get while listing to the radio via the internet today. Then I got an email from a friend in Rush Springs, OK. Below is part of what she said. "It has been a long day. Wildfires everywhere in OK and north TX. Velma OK and Loco OK were hit hard and there has been a bad patch very close to us (within 1.5 miles). Lots or houses burned in Midwest City. Lots of houses burned in Velma OK too, but the houses got ignored so the firefighters could concentrate on the huge gasoline storage tanks that lie on the edge of town...." Please pray for Oklahoma! Thanks, Sandi
Thanks a bunch you give me a place to look. I have no oral history of grand ma being Indian but grand pa has some oral history cause him and his brothers and sisters tried to get on the rolls in 1907 on his mother. I have some oral history of them taking their cotton across the Red River to Denison to be processed. One of my uncles was a drinker and some of the storied are about the problems he got into. I'll see if I can find any information in that area. Have a good day. Unless your grandmother was Indian and the tribe kept a record there wasn't much record keeping done in those days in what is now Oklahoma. Those kinds of records weren't required until about 1918 in Oklahoma. The minister or church might have kept records if they still exist, but that isn't likely either.
