Hi List: Does anyone have information about people named Holley in N.Y. in the 1700's? In the early 1700's, my fifth great grandmother was a Holley. As you know the records for that era are few and far between. Her name was Elizabeth Holley. I believe that her father John was considered a squatter in Orange County, N.Y. around 1713. I have found the surname to be associated with the Mohawk. Elizabeth married Ebenezer Stephens, and they had Issac, William and Jane Stephens. My Janes Stephens married Samuel Smith and they had my Mary Smith who married my James Newberry. James' father John was the witness to John Holley's will. Any good ideas as to where I might get more information about this family? Sue
