    3. April, Where did Henry and Rose Ellen live in New York? Was it in the New York City area or upstate New York? If it was in the NYC area, death records can be difficult to track down since they were handled by the burroughs/counties not the state. Also, most US records will only indicate country of birth on a death record and not exact place (especially if the informant on the death certificate did not know). What was the last US census they were in for sure? Was it the 1940? Ages in US censuses are a lot of times an approximation since people lied, the people giving the information (next door neighbors, etc) didn't know exactly and other excuses.
