    3. Hi all: In my 1935 Ward Lock Guide to the Isle of Wight, there is a table of days of sunshine which shows the Isle of Wight as having over 200 sunny days in a typical year. Probably as good as one could get in Britain. My uncle, who had TB, went to the Black Forest pre-WW II and then to Switzerland after the war broke out - he was luckily a fluent German speaker and the Gestapo let him go after interrogating him as potentially British (which he was!)
