I am searching for Emma and Sarah Duffey who both appear on the 1851 census at the House of Industry aged 15 and 16 yrs. Can anyone tell me what might have happened to them. Would they have stayed there until they possibly married? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Brenda - Australia
There is also the possibility that they were British Home Children, sent to Canada, Australia or United States. Perry Snow has a site where you can check for their names. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~britishhomechildren I hope that this may help. = = = = = = = = = = = = Pat C., BHCD Quakertown, PA US BLUROC1@worldnet.att.net = = = = = = = = = = = = = Incoming/outgoing mail scanned by Norton 2004 = = = = = = = = = = = = = = ----- Original Message ----- From: Brenda at Iinet To: ISLE-OF-WIGHT-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Saturday, December 11, 2004 6:09 PM Subject: DUFFEY I am searching for Emma and Sarah Duffey who both appear on the 1851 census at the House of Industry aged 15 and 16 yrs.
