Kia Ora (Greetings from a new New Zaland lister!) I am researching one of my husbands ancestors at present by the name of GLASBY. They were originally CLASBY from Ringwood but with the relocation the initial letter somehow got changed. We know that this is really what happened as there is a will to prove it. Now I have started a website for this Glasbey crowd that settled on the ISLE of WIGHT if anyone is interestted in this family at http://AdeInNelson.homestead.com/ What I am after is some help with access to info on this family from the 1851, 1861 and 1841 cencus and also anyone with access to Parish Records from the parish churches they appear to have used for their christenings and marriages - namely NEWCHURCH and later some at ST HELENS. I am unable to order these films from a Family History library as I am presently living on a remote island off the NZ coast. I have looked at the IOW genealogy web site and found their BMD pages which were very helpful. I have also checked all other usual online resources such as Rootsweb free BMD and free cencus, 1881 and 1901 cencuses and IGI, Family Connect etc. Any assistance most greatfully received. You might even find something of interest to you on my website that has numerous postcards of old churches in NZ, Aussie and GB as well as other old postcards of areas of interest to me - eg Bampton in Devon.
