    3. Thanks Keith. Looking at my 1997 AA road atlas, I could find Northwood and Ventnor, but it's clearly not large scale enough to show Bonchurch. The London Ancestor map site's Hampshire map doesn't show the Isle of Wight at all, and they don't have one for the IOW either. Other old maps I've looked at only show the northern half of IOW so Ventnor isn't seen. However, I took a look at my Ward Lock guide to the Isle of Wight 22nd Ed. 1935-6 series which has a great color half-inch OS map of the IOW, with Bonchurch clearly identified on it. If anyone else would find this helpful, I could send a scan (but I think it is still in copyright, so you'll have to ask for it for your private research, please!) Regards and thanks to all who have helped out on this one! Martin Willcocks Taylorsville, UT, USA.

There are many old maps that do include Bonchurch, online, at < http://www.geog.port.ac.uk/webmap/hantsmap/hantsmap/hantsmap.htm > Cheers Elmo.
