    1. re Bonchurch
    2. Hello All, I would like to add that Bonchurch is a pretty village with a large pond giving to the village by the writer H de Vere Stacpool [writer of the Blue Lagoon] in memory of his wife.Bonchurch has two churches, the Old and the New,the Old Church is suppose to have been visited by King Charles 1,when he attended a funeral whilst a prisoner at Carisbrooke Castle. At the New Church, the poet Algenon Swinbourne and his family are buried, they lived at East Dene nearby.Charles Dickens wrote David Copperfield whilst staying at Winterbourne.a house owned by a friend. The main village hasn't changed much over the years,it was my home but I now live on The Romney Marsh,Kent,Bonchurch is always "home"to me. Kind regards Valerie
