I am descended from the Ash and Hayles families, Hampshire, I.O.W. and am connected to many other families there including the Whillier/Wheeler and Morris familes. I particularly wish to discover the parents of a William Hayles who married Sarah Wheeler in 1819 in Northwood, Hampshire. Any information about any of these names would be greatly appreciated. Hi Joan Have a look at our website http://www.chayles.freeserve.co.uk and see if you can find any links. I have got it back to 1545 so far with the help of an Irene HAILS-RICKS in Provo Utah who is related. There are quite a few HAYLES on the Island and all have different lines. I have one cousin still living in Ryde and that is about all that is left of my immediate family. Try the HALES CHRONICLES at http://www.hales.org/chronicles.html There are over 22,000 of them there all in first name and date order and you can add your own. This is part of the Hales Family tree done by an American and is worth a look. I am not sure if your Sarah is related but I do have a William HAYLES with no marriage details, he was baptised 9 June 1843 and died August 1843 and was buried at St Helens 13 Aug 1843. You will find him on our website. If you are connected then please contact me, if not I can pass you on to a couple of other people researching HAYLES Chris Hayles Eastleigh Hampshire -----Original Message----- From: Joan Myers [mailto:jlmyers@austarmetro.com.au] Sent: 19 April 2004 12:26 To: ISLE-OF-WIGHT-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [IoW] Ash/ Hayles I.O.W. Many thanks, Chris, for the link to the Hales Chronicles. Although not an Island HALES, I have found my husband's 4 x great grandfather, Bernard HALES, on this site, plus many other relatives that I didn't know about before. Especially pleasing as this part of the family research has lain dormant for some years!
