Now that does bring back memories Valerie!! The old "Shanklin" and others named after the islands towns! I always knew when it was holiday time, the smell of the old steam trains at Southampton Central, then the smell of the sea and mud at Portsmouth Harbour, but best of all was the smell of the paddle steamers, and the sound of their paddles hitting the water!
