    1. [IoW] CONVICTS ON "RODNEY" 1850

    3. Hello All, Thank you to the several persons who wrote with suggestions over how I might determine from my list of 312 names of convicts transported on "Rodney" in 1850 who were the "Parkhurst Boys". I learned that there is an index to selected prison registers; the person offering this information was writing from WA but I believe that such an index would be available in the National Archives at Kew. Five names from this Index matched with my names on HO 11/16. The boys were not convicted on the Isle of Wight, but they were serving in Parkhurst at the time of collection by "Rodney". Their names were: Richard Arnold Henry Beaumont Thomas Bennett Robert Brady Patrick Brannon In time, I may discern more. I would recommend "Criminal Ancestors - A Guide to Historical Criminal Records in England and Wales" by D.T. Hawkings. Regards, Julie
