    3. Hello Debbie Just a quick question. Do you have a copy of their marriage certificate? The reason I ask is that I have been looking through the www.Familysearch.org site and came across quite a few possibilities for you which could be whittled down if you had their father's Christian names. If you get stuck mail me (off list) and I will send you an attachment of what I managed to find OK Happy hunting Pauline -----Original Message----- From: Debbie Mawdsley [mailto:dr.mawdsley@tiscali.co.uk] Sent: 28 February 2004 14:26 To: ISLE-OF-WIGHT-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [IoW] New to list Hello to all on this list I'm just introducing myself to you & asking a favour all at the same time! My IOW interests are; Price Midlane Urry Searle Mackett I'm searching for information on Thomas & Jane MIDLANE. They married in 1827 at Portsea. In 1841 they were at Brading, with children Samuel, Jane & Edward. At that time Thomas is listed as age 40 mariner, & Jane 30, both Yes of this county. Does anyone have the 1851 census indexes (or 1861) & could have a look for them please? I have Volume 57 & have not found them. I'd really like to have a more definite age & need the places of birth for the couple. In return, I'm willing to search the 1851 indexes for Southampton & surrounding area, & 1891 nation wide. Many thanks. Debbie Mawdsley (Southampton UK) Other interests; Hellyer (Netley & Southampton) Clasby (all) Boxall (Porchester/Portsea) Waren (all) Veronelli & Variants (all)

    3. Hello Pauline The marriage took place in 1827, so before civil registration. The entry is on the IGI site, 27 Jul 1827. Someone kindly checked the PR entry, but no father's names listed. I have found an entry on the 1881 for a Jane Midlane born 1812, Penton Mewsey...so could be my Jane, that's one reason I wanted to find the 1851 & 1861 census entries to find the place of birth listed then. I've also found an entry on Freebmd for Jane's death, Mar 1886, age 74. Wouldn't life be boring if we already knew all the answer's??? Best wishes Debbie -------Original Message------- From: Pauline Date: Saturday, February 28, 2004 15:21:56 To: ISLE-OF-WIGHT-L@rootsweb.com Subject: RE: [IoW] New to list Hello Debbie Just a quick question.
