Probably around 1836 Henry CORNEY married Hannah YOUNG, Ch. 27 Jan 1818, Whitwell, IOW Through the 2nd Edition of Vital Records Index - British Isles I have found that Henry and Hannah had two daughters: Fanny CORNEY, Chr. 30 Jul 1837 at Godshill and Clara CORNEY, Chr. 18 Aug 1839 at Godshill Did Fanny Corney die? or is she a different Henry and Hannah? Clara CORNEY was 9 years old in 1848 when her father, Henry CORNEY married 8 May 1848 at Portsea to Christianna FLETCHER, b. 3 Nov 1820 Devonport- d. 2 May 1904, Toronto, On. CA, d/o William FLETCHER, Joiner. Henry and Christiana had Henry William CORNEY, b. 1849 Ventnor - d.? Canada Samuel CORNEY, b. 1851 Ventnor - d. 1852 Ventnor Samuel Charles CORNEY, b. 1853 m Harriet BEAL[E] 1 Dec 1881, Portsea, two daughters, Edith CORNEY, 1883 Portsea and Ethel CORNEY probably Portsea also - d. ? In 1891 and 1901 UK Census, Harriet Beal CORNEY is in Portsea with her two daughters. She is shown as Married [not widowed] Lawrence Joshua CORNEY, b. 1859 Ventnor - m. Jane BOARD, b. 1860 Ventnor, d/o Charles Edward BOARD and Fanny Ann BUSH. Fanny Ann Board d. 1919 and Charles E. Board died 1921. Jane Board CORNEY d. 1922 Ocala, Florida buried St. Catharines, Ont. CA. Lawrence J d. 1926 Miami FL, buried St. Catharines, On. CA Does any lister know what happened to these two girls? When did Hannah YOUNG Died? Does anyone know anything about Samuel Charles CORNEY, was in Royal Engineers as Sapper/Carpenter in 1881. Do not believe he is the Samuel Corney who died in Yorkshire. How would he have got there and why was Harriet Corney not shown as a widow in 1891 and 1901?
