Have you tried a variant of the spelling of your surname ? I have records of a Sophia DAW born 1791 at St. Helens IOW. She was one of the children of Richard Daw (known as Dickie Daws) a well known local smuggler, and Jane, the daughter of Edward Callaway of St. Helens. Richard and Jane had married in 1775, and produced a number of children over the succeeding years.
