Dear Peter, >In researching the history of shipbuilding at Fishbourne, Isle of Wight, I >have come across references to Brown Hearn of Hazeley Farm. >I've found no indication that Brown Hearn was involved in shipbuilding or >that he was connected to the Lists by marriage or business. >Does anybody know anything about: >- Brown Hearn; >- Hazeley Farm? Brown HEARN junior was a cousin of mine and has thousands of descendants here in Victoria, Australia. I too have never heard of the HEARN family being involved in the ship building business. I can tell you that in 1800, Brown HEARN senior and his wife Mary (nee SMITH) leased a property called "Great Cridmore Farm" and that Brown HEARN junior was the Keeper of Carisbrooke Castle. His wife was Sarah ROACH and they had 14 children, 4 of whom emigrated to Victoria. Regards David in Ballarat >Thanks, >Peter Gawn >Sechelt, B.C. Canada.
