Elizabeth MORRIS (nee Pitman) died in about 1895/6 in Freshwater aged about 40. Wife of Charles MORRIS mother of Elizabeth,Kate, Emily,Nell, Charles and James. Can anyone help in finding a record of her death. A recent search of recorded burials at the IOW Record Office was fruitless. Her Husband Charles MORRIS died in 1946 and I have also been unable to trace his place of burial. At least one of the children Kate, was baptised in the Wesleyan Church and the family lived at (Downside) Freshwater and later at Sheepwash. In about 1890 they were forced to move out of their tied cottage an the Farringford Estate after a fire. Guess what! I can't find any record of the fire either. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am planning another visit to the Island but where do I start? David Thomas
