Hi I seem to have hit a brick wall, is there someone who can offer advice. Frederick Warne born 1840/1841. I cannot seem to locate this birth, I have checked on the BMD index's, although I found them difficult to read. I have also checked the Baptism records. His father was William Warne. Frederick gave the address of New Street on his marriage cert. (Please note this is not Frederick Charles Warne, Have checked this out ) Many thanks Steve

Hi Steve I can understand your frustration. I found him (I think) on the 1881 census born Carisbrooke Hampshire which is what whetted my appetite as I was born there but over a 100 years later. I then spent a long time going through 1837online and found every name but Frederick. Did he have any siblings to your knowledge? I have a list of 11 Warnes all born on the island between 1838 and 1843. These include a pair of twins.
