    3. Hi Listers, While reading the Sunday, St. Petersburg Times, I came across this obit. The URRY name pops up a lot and maybe this will be of interest to someone LEWIS URRY, 77, who invented the long-lasting alkaline battery, died Tuesday in Middleburg Height, Ohio. He retired in May from Energizer, the successor to Union Carbide's National Carbon Co., where he developed the first practical long-life battery in the 1950's. An estimated 80 percent of the dry cell batteries in the world are based on his work. I have typed the obit word for word from the paper. It is located on page 12A. I believe the web site is www.stpetetimes.com . This column of obits is usually for the more notably people, inventors, writers, some of the lesser known TV and radio people etc. I hope this is of help. Pat Wolfe in Sunny Florida USA
