Hi Debbie, The subject of the William and Mary's children is a little complicated. There were two couples in Bembridge both called William and Mary SEARLE. I'm still trying to unravel which children belong to which couple. The two Williams were uncle and nephew, so the tree meets up further back. At the moment I am not clear which ones are Isaac's parents. I have the same problem with my g-g-g-grandfather Cornelius who was born in 1811. This is what I provisionally have for the family tree going further back: Alexander SEARLE (b.circa 1616) had a son: John SEARLE (bap.15 mar 1636/7, mar. 26 Jan 1660 to Annis COTTON). They had a son: John SEARLE (bap. 9 Apr 1663, mar. 1689 to Mary TUTTEN). They had several children including: Thomas SEARLE (bap 25 Jul 1701) had several children including: Thomas SEARLE (bap.1 Feb 1732, mar. 13 Nov 1756 Ann WOODNUT) had several children including: Thomas SEARLE (bap. Feb 1764, mar. 19 Feb 1782 to Susannah HOLLIS, bur. 27 Dec 1812) and William SEARLE (bap. 21 Apr 1765, mar. 3 Jul 1788 to Mary DEVENISH) Thomas and Susannah then had several children including: William SEARLE (bap. 15 Jul 1782, mar. 30 Sep 1802 to Mary DYER) Then the two William and Mary's had several children which included: Isaac SEARLE (bap. 16 Sep 1804, mar. 8 Oct 1821 to Charlotte MACKETT, died 1848) Cornelius SEARLE (bap. 1 Sep 1811, mar. 11 Jun 1829 to Jane BAILEY, died 1880) I hope this is of some help. If I get more information about the William's and Mary's I will let you know. I think one of the Mary's ended up in the workhouse (House of Industry), with some children, but I need to investigate this further.
