Hi Pat, This is a long shot! I have SIMMONDS from Shinfield, Berks. William John married Elizabeth? 1823- there were five children:- Mary 1827 my g-gram, Elizabeth 1832, Henry 1835, William 1836, Sarah 1838. Mary and her husband William WILLIS moved at some point after their marriage to IOW where fours sons and a daughter were born. The daughter died on IOW and the rest of the family came to Canada in 1875. Not sure if other SIMMONDS were living on IOW when Mary and William went there. Just thought I'd throw this out to you and the others. My GGgrandfather Henry Simons shows on the 1901 and 1891 census ones says born in Cowes(1901 Leicester) and other Newport. I'm guessing his DOB to be about 1827. Most of the Simons I find in all my searches for IOW are spelled Symonds, Simmons, etc. Could someone maybe do a lookup for 1841 Census. He later must of moved to Corby Nhants area as that is where his daughter was born, in 1861. Any help would be appreciated. Pat in Sunny Florida/USA ______________________________
