Speaking of surnames gone crazy, I can't find any info on my relative, Elizabeth SO(U)THCOTT. I know that she was born in 1833 and married James ADAMS in 1852. Together they had three children (that I know of), James ADAMS, William Southcott ADAMS and Bertha ADAMS. After James Sr. passed away, she married a John W. MEDLEY in 1866. She passed away in 1908 and was buried in Ryde Cemetery. If someone could please find some information on her or her family (parents? siblings?) . . . In the 1881, I found her and her family living in Ryde. Their next door neighbor just happened to be a Henry SOUTHCOTT . . . I don't know if this is a brother, a cousin, an uncle or what.
