    3. Hi Angela, That's what it sounds like to me. But New England, USA, we also have a tool called a 'grub hoe.' It is useful for starting to dig in rocky ground and/or where there are a lot of roots that you want out of the way. It is not a 'finish' tool, but sure comes in handy in the rocky, rooty soil we tend to have here.
